In November, the game developer and publisher Artifex Mundi reached a record-breaking 4.6 million PLN of gross margin, i.e., 140% more than in the previous year and 6% more than in the previous record-breaking month, October 2023. Artifex Mundi’s year-on-year revenue tripled, reaching 7.6 million PLN.
The dynamic increase of the gross margin, i.e., revenue minus user acquisition costs, stems from, among other things, the seasonal decrease of spendings on user acquisition. The UA expenses in November 2023 amounted to slightly less than 3.2 million PLN compared to almost 3.9 million PLN in October and 0.6 PLN in the year before. A 17% reduction in investment (MoM) in the user base resulted in only a 5% drop in revenue when compared to the sales in October this year.
The key product of Artifex Mundi, Unsolved, an application offering its users free-to-play access to some of the best HOPA games from Artifex Mundi’s portfolio, generated 6.9 million PLN in revenue in November this year (1.8 million PLN in the year before and 7.3 million PLN in October this year), reaching a record-breaking 3.7 million PLN in gross margin (8% more than in October this year, a YoY increase of 234%).
After 11 months into 2023, Artifex Mundi’s revenue reached 75.1 million PLN, which is almost double the amount of revenue generated in the same period of 2022. The revenue minus user acquisition costs for 11 months of this year amounted to 36.8 million PLN in comparison to 23.8 million PLN between January and November 2022.
– We’ve closed another successful month, also from a financial perspective. A significant cut in our UA spendings only slightly decreased the average daily revenue from the commercialization of Unsolved, while the key KPIs were higher than expected in that period. We are consistently implementing the application development plan by, among other things, preparing to intensify the marketing campaigns as of the last week of December – commented Przemysław Błaszczyk, CEO of Artifex Mundi.
