Record-breaking revenues and profits of Artifex Mundi

01.04.2022

In 2021, the publicly listed game developer and publisher increased revenues by 52%, reaching PLN 39.1 million, generating EBIT of PLN 15.3 (53% increase YoY) and a net profit of PLN 13 million, 58% more than in 2020. It’s the best result in Artifex Mundi’s history. The dynamic increase in revenues and profits was possible thanks to the free-to-play segment, whose revenues increased by 400% last year.

The publicly listed company’s driving force is Unsolved, a mobile application that offers players time-limited gameplay (based on usable energy, which is slightly renewed every day and can be purchased in the application). In 2021, the revenues from Unsolved’s commercialization amounted to PLN 16.8 million and were ten times higher than the results achieved in 2020. The revenues from the commercialization of the other free-to-play game, Bladebound, increased by 61% in 2021, reaching PLN 3.5 million.

While last year, due to the rapid increase in sales, the free-to-play segment generated over half of the Group’s revenues, the segment of premium HOPA games remains a solid foundation of the implementation of Artifex Mundi’s development plans. In 2021, this segment generated EBIT of PLN 12.2 million, with revenues of PLN 17.9 million.

“It’s the second year in a row that we are able to boast a dynamic increase in revenues and profits, as well as record-breaking recurring financial results. We are pleased with the record-breaking result of 2021, especially since it was achieved despite the new challenges that we faced, among others, in relation to the revolutionary regulatory changes in the iOS environment. Even though Unsolved is still not a mature product yet, one might venture the opinion that the application will become a milestone in our company’s growth. Our strategic goal is to create at least two free-to-play games with the potential to generate millions of zlotys monthly. I believe that both Unsolved and the new game from the RPG studio have the chance to reach this level,” says Przemysław Błaszczyk, President of the publicly listed company.
