The publicly listed game developer and publisher ended December 2020 with a 41% increase in sales, which reached PLN 2.5 million. In the entire 4th quarter, Artifex Mundi earned revenues of nearly PLN 6.8 million, almost a half more than the year before. Artifex Mundi’s results boost the profits from the free-to-play segment and revenues from the console versions of HOPA games.
According to preliminary data, since the beginning of 2020, Artifex Mundi’s revenues have increased by 54%, reaching PLN 25.7 million. It’s the highest revenues in the company’s history to date.
While the segment of HOPA games, which are commercialized as premium products, remains the principal source of the Group’s revenues, the Group’s business area that develops the fastest is, without a doubt, the free-to-play segment. In December, the revenues from the F2P segment increased by over 450%, reaching PLN 0.64 million, compared to an 18% increase in revenues from the HOPA segment. In December, the profits from the commercialization of Bladebound (a mobile RPG) increased by nearly PLN 0.25 million, reaching PLN 0.36 million, while the profits from the commercialization of the Unsolved application amounted to PLN 0.28 million.
Unsolved is an application that combines some of the company’s HOPA games and offers players the chance to play them for a limited time (based on usable energy, which is slightly renewed every day and can be purchased in the application). The application that was released at the beginning of 2020 on selected markets for Android users with 4 HOPA games available now offers access to more than ten recognizable HOPA titles from Artifex Mundi’s portfolio on Android and iOS devices. Since November 2020, Artifex Mundi has been running test player acquisition campaigns with promising results and gradually increasing the scale of spending in this area.
In the segment of HOPA games, which are sold as premium products, Artifex Mundi continues the successful implementation of the plan, whose aim is to maximize income from the available game portfolio through the expansion of the game range on PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. A high double-digit increase in console sales revenues, with Nintendo Switch at the forefront, led to an increase in the revenues from the segment in the past month, which reached PLN 1.8 million.
“The dynamic increase in sales in December is the crowning achievement of the successful business year of 2020. The Group’s reorganization, the development of the most promising business areas, and the simultaneous maximization of the HOPA segment’s profitability yield the expected results, which are reflected not only in the growing revenues but also in the Group’s profits. We hope that 2021, thanks to the further development of Unsolved, among others, will be at least as successful as the previous year, and our stockholders will have every reason to be satisfied with their contribution to our project,” says Przemysław Błaszczyk, President of Artifex Mundi.
