The publicly listed game developer and publisher ended March with a 76% YoY revenue increase, reaching a record-breaking amount of PLN 6.2 million. Artifex Mundi’s revenues in the first three months of 2023 amounted to PLN 15.9 million, 44% more than the year before. The company’s record-breaking results were achieved thanks to the Unsolved application, whose revenues from commercialization increased in March in comparison with February of the current year by nearly 30%, exceeding PLN 5 million for the first time in the company’s history.
In March, the revenues from the free-to-play segment increased by 133% YoY, reaching PLN 5.2 million. The segment’s player acquisition costs in that period amounted to nearly PLN 3.4 million, compared to PLN 1.1 million in March 2022. In the 1st quarter, the free-to-play segment generated PLN 12.8 million (80% YoY increase), with investments in player acquisition equal to PLN 8 million (compared to 4 million the year before).
The company’s driving force, which generated 96% of the quarterly revenues from the free-to-play segment and 77% of the company’s entire revenues, is the Unsolved application, which provides players with free-to-play access to some of the best HOPA games available in the Artifex Mundi’s portfolio. The improvement of Unsolved’s KPIs open up a new path for Artifex Mundi to a dynamic increase in player acquisition investments, which translates into an even faster revenue growth. In March, the revenue from the application’s commercialization reduced by player acquisition costs (UA) was equal to a record-breaking amount of PLN 1.7 million. In the 1st quarter of the current year, the revenues reduced by UA costs reached PLN 4.3 million, over 120% more than the year before. What’s important is that the application has been dynamically growing in popularity every month. In March, daily revenues from the application were 16% higher than in the previous month.
“The dynamic growth of Unsolved’s profitability is the result of a consistent implementation of the application’s development plan within three areas. We invest in expanding the content available in the application, which encourages the statistical player to stay with us longer. We work on ways to reach potential players, for example, by constantly developing UA tools and strategies. Finally, we focus heavily on the improvement of the application’s KPIs. This year’s results of Unsolved are the best proof of the effectiveness of our actions. We continue to think that Unsolved has considerable potential for growth. The success of our previous ideas for the application’s development pushes us to implement new, often more ambitious ones, with a potentially much greater impact on the application’s performance,” says Przemysław Błaszczyk, President of the publicly listed company.
