Unsolved – a free-to-play application that offers HOPA games available in the publicly listed company’s portfolio, is flourishing. In January, the revenues from its commercialization reached nearly PLN 0.89 million, compared to revenue of PLN 0.27 million in December 2020 and an average monthly revenue of less than PLN 0.15 million in the entire year of 2020. The increase in the sales of Unsolved and the revenues from the whole free-to-play segment is the effect of both the development of the segment’s products and the growing effectiveness of player acquisition campaigns.
Unsolved is a mobile application that offers players the chance to play some of the HOPA games available in Artifex Mundi’s portfolio for a limited time (based on usable energy, which is slightly renewed every day and can be purchased in the application). At the moment, the application for Android and iOS, released at the beginning of 2020, offers access to 14 recognizable HOPA titles.
In 2020, Artifex Mundi ran test, scale-limited player acquisition campaigns for Unsolved, whose promising results became the basis for the launch of larger campaigns in 2021. In January, the company spent over PLN 0.9 million on player acquisition for the free-to-play segment, and in the view of Przemysław Błaszczyk, President of the publicly listed company, it was money well spent. “Even though it’s still too early to provide a general assessment, based on the data collected, we consider the campaign’s effectiveness to be satisfying, and the KPIs for the players who were attracted in this manner confirm our business assumptions. In the next months, we’re going to be at least as active in the field of marketing as last month, which should be reflected in the increase in the number of Unsolved’s users and the company’s results,” adds Przemysław Błaszczyk.
Artifex Mundi ended January 2021 with an increase in sales of 95%, reaching PLN 3.1 million. Apart from the development of Unsolved, the key factors that influenced Artifex Mundi’s results last month were the revenues from HOPA games, which were 26% higher, stimulated by a 66% increase in sales of the console versions, as well as the increase in revenues (PLN 0.28 million more compared to January 2020, reaching PLN 0.39 million) from the commercialization of Bladebound, a free-to-play mobile RPG.
